This collaborative effort aims to conjoin both artists styles and bodies of work by combining structural form with soft textile designs. Superimposing Maya’s textile designs and bright feminine colour palettes onto Jordan’s structural maquette will explore how these two ways of working communicate with and adapt to each other. The painted maquette will also serve as the reference for a large-scale oil painting that will be part of the installation. Jordan’s work explores abstracted realities and alternative structures, while Maya’s work is more involved in how the uncertainty of the inner self manifests in rituals and attachment.
