Skateboarding is more than just a hobby or sport; it is a rich culture. Due to negative media representations, it is commonly seen as a nuisance, something undesirable. Urban Echoes is a video game that challenges these perceptions through engaging gameplay and personal storytelling. It is designed to be easily accessible to non-gamers and non-skateboarders alike.
Skateboarding has helped me and many others find community, identity, and self-expression. Through exploration of an urban environment, interactions with a diverse cast of fictionalized skaters, and learning to master tricks and combos, Urban Echoes immerses players into the skateboarding world and invites them to explore why skateboarding means so much to so many people.
